Bharatmorningnews.com – Meritorious School Ludhiana seeks smart interactive panels for its classrooms as teachers at the prestigious Residential School for Meritorious Students have launched a public appeal for donations. The institution reports that an acute shortage of digital infrastructure is significantly hampering online coaching under the Punjab Academic Coaching for Excellence (PACE) programme, despite the school’s consistent track record of success in competitive examinations. This initiative highlights the growing need for modern educational technology in supporting student achievement.

Current Infrastructure Challenges

The school, which currently has over 850 students enrolled in Classes XI and XII across medical, non-medical, and commerce streams, faces a critical gap in its teaching facilities. With only four interactive smart panels available for its 15 sections, the ratio of panels to classrooms remains insufficient. While some classrooms are equipped with conventional projectors, teachers have noted that these traditional setups are inadequate for the specialised online teaching required under the PACE programme, which prepares students for highly competitive examinations such as NEET and JEE.

Principal Satwant Kaur explained that interactive panels function as advanced Android-based smart boards that allow teachers to write, draw diagrams, and explain complex concepts during live online classes. “This makes learning much more interactive and effective,” she emphasized, highlighting how these modern tools transform the educational experience for students preparing for medical and engineering entrance examinations.

Community Support Needed

Of the four interactive panels currently available at the institution, two were provided by the Education Department and the remaining two by the Meritorious Society. The school has formally sought four additional panels from the department, particularly as online coaching classes for commerce students are set to begin shortly. This expansion of digital resources is seen as crucial for maintaining the quality of education across all streams.

“The interactive panels are extremely helpful, particularly for science students attending online coaching sessions. If someone or any organisation could donate even one or two panels, it would make a significant difference for our students,” said teacher Mandeep Kaur in her appeal for community support.

Appealing for community support, teacher Mandeep Kaur urged philanthropists, corporate organisations, and social groups to come forward and help bridge the infrastructure gap. Her message resonates with the broader educational community, emphasizing that even modest contributions can have substantial impact on student outcomes.

The appeal comes even as the school continues to post strong academic results. This year, 18 students from the institution qualified for the NEET examination, underscoring the potential of its students and the need to strengthen digital teaching facilities. These achievements demonstrate that with proper resources, the school can continue to produce successful candidates for prestigious medical colleges across the country.

Repeated attempts to contact district education officer (secondary) Dimple Madan for a response remained unsuccessful, though the school remains optimistic about receiving institutional support. Teachers said equipping every classroom with interactive smart panels would ensure uninterrupted online learning and enable students to derive the maximum benefit from the PACE programme, ultimately contributing to the school’s continued excellence in competitive examination preparation.
