Pavala Shyamala, Beloved Telugu Cinema Star, Passes Away at 75

The veteran actress Pavala Shyamala has passed away while receiving medical care at Hyderabad’s Osmania General Hospital. She was 75 years old. The actress succumbed to a cardiac arrest during the early morning hours of July 28, as she was being treated for various health complications.

This tragic development follows a series of events from several weeks prior, when Shyamala was discovered wandering on the streets after being rejected by a medical facility where she had gone for treatment.

Official Confirmation of Her Passing

A representative verified the news regarding Shyamala’s death. According to the statement:

“She had been suffering from severe health issues for some time and passed away while undergoing treatment at Osmania Hospital in Hyderabad. Doctors at Osmania Hospital officially announced that she died after suffering a massive heart attack at 1:52 AM (on Tuesday, July 28th). Her mortal remains have currently been placed in the hospital’s mortuary.”

Details concerning her final funeral ceremonies have not yet been made public.

A Life of Struggle and Resilience

Shyamala contributed as a character actress in Tollywood for over thirty years. However, her final years brought considerable hardship. Financial difficulties combined with age-related medical conditions and the responsibility of caring for a daughter with ongoing health problems took a heavy toll on her wellbeing.

During May, insufficient funds led to her being sent away from a hospital. Police officers subsequently located her on the streets.

Producer Dil Raju, who also serves as chairman of the Film Development Corporation, along with his associates, came forward to assist her. They discovered that the hospital had discharged her because of inadequate money and arranged for a taxi to bring her home. Unfortunately, the driver left her at an intersection during the late night hours. Local residents who observed her vulnerable situation contacted law enforcement, who then transported her to the RK Foundation.

Raju and his team arranged for medical consultation and made certain she received appropriate care.

Previous Instances of Hardship

Unfortunately, this was not Shyamala’s first encounter with such difficulties. Reports indicate that in December 2025, both the actress and her daughter were told to vacate their residence. Law enforcement officers intervened to prevent the pair from attempting something drastic and relocated them to a charitable shelter.

Back in 2021, filmmakers Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK, collectively known as Raj & DK, called upon their followers on social media platforms to provide assistance to the veteran performer, highlighting her challenging circumstances. Throughout the years, numerous performers including Sai Durgha Tej, Chiranjeevi, Pawan Kalyan, and Allu Arjun have extended their support to her.

Cinematic Legacy

Shyamala earned recognition for her humorous performances in movies like Golimaar, Khadgam, Andhrawala, and Varsham. She shared screen space with prominent stars such as Chiranjeevi, Prabhas, Jr NTR, and Allu Arjun, among others.

Her most recent significant credited role appeared in Mathu Vadalara, which came out in 2019. Several of her memorable moments have been repurposed as internet memes.
