In a message posted on the X platform late Thursday evening, the Prime Minister outlined the comprehensive steps already taken by authorities following the revelation of the paper leak scandal. Modi emphasized that multiple firm responses have been initiated, with numerous individuals connected to the incident being detained and transferred to custody for further investigation.

The executive branch demonstrated remarkable efficiency by organizing a supplementary examination for the affected 22 lakh students within a remarkably short timeframe. The results of this re-examination were released in recent days, bringing relief to students and their families who had been anxious about the impact on their academic careers.

Since the paper leak incident, many big steps have been taken in the last two and a half months. The culprits have been caught. They are in jail. Our most important responsibility was that a year of the students should not be wasted. It was very necessary to hold the exams immediately.

CJP Demands and Political Pressure

The Cockroach Janta Party has intensified its campaign, pressing for Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan to resign from his position. The party argues that the current accountability mechanisms are insufficient following the examination crisis that disrupted the lives of millions of students preparing for medical entrance examinations.

Party organizers have scheduled peaceful demonstrations across the nation for July 24, encouraging citizens to stage rallies in every district to show solidarity with the affected students. The CJP has also rejected the government’s proposal for dialogue, maintaining that the Prime Minister’s recent statements did not adequately address their core accountability requirements.

The government, using its full strength, arranged for the exams of as many as 22 lakh students to be conducted in the shortest possible time. And just five-six days ago, on the 19th, the results also came out, and news of the happiness of students who passed is coming in from across the country.

Legislative Framework and Fast-Track Courts

Elaborating on the government’s efforts to prevent future incidents, Modi explained that officials worked through the night to prepare a draft framework for specialized courts and severe punishments. This comprehensive proposal will undergo Cabinet deliberations on Friday before receiving final approval from the Prime Minister.

Additionally, Modi mentioned that legislation establishing expedited judicial proceedings and enhanced penalties for paper leak perpetrators is expected to reach Parliament shortly. With the second week of Parliament commencing on Monday, legislators will prioritize securing passage of the proposed legislation through the House.

Authorities have reiterated their invitation for discussions with the CJP leadership. Union Minister Jitendra Singh proposed that consultations could occur at either the Health Minister’s residence or workplace.
