Arvind Group’s ₹1,200 Crore Investment to Strengthen Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat Ties

Bharatmorningnews.com – Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav held productive discussions in Ahmedabad with Arvind Limited Vice Chairman Kulin Lalbhai regarding the company’s planned industrial expansion. The talks centered on deepening Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat ties through enhanced economic cooperation, with the textile giant proposing significant investments across multiple locations in the state.

Major Investment Plans and Infrastructure Development

Arvind Limited has outlined ambitious plans to establish industrial units at three strategic locations: Barlai near Dewas, the PM MITRA Park in Dhar, and Betma in Indore. The company has been allocated 105 acres of land for its proposed facility at the PM MITRA Park in Dhar, with production expected to commence by next year. This ₹1,200 crore investment represents a significant commitment to strengthening Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat ties through industrial collaboration.

The state government has outlined comprehensive incentives for textile and apparel manufacturers, including capital subsidies, interest subsidies, stamp duty reimbursement, and registration charge support. These measures aim to facilitate green industrialisation and encourage research and development within the sector.

Employment Generation and Economic Impact

Arvind Limited’s existing operations in Madhya Pradesh already contribute substantially to the local economy. Through an agreement with Peppcon Private Limited in Indore, the company manufactures approximately 70 lakh garments annually. The proposed expansion is expected to generate employment for around 5,000 additional people in the garment sector alone.

Chief Minister Yadav emphasized that stronger industrial cooperation between the two states would not only create jobs but also expand Madhya Pradesh’s tax base, providing additional resources for development initiatives. The government noted that Arvind Limited is also exploring opportunities beyond the three proposed locations.

Sustainability and Infrastructure Initiatives

Environmental sustainability emerged as a key discussion point, with officials examining water reuse solutions through Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) systems. The state government is developing common ZLD systems for textile, pharmaceutical, and other industrial clusters across more than 90 industrial parks being established throughout Madhya Pradesh.

The proposed industrial expansion is expected to strengthen Madhya Pradesh’s textile manufacturing ecosystem while improving employment opportunities and industrial cooperation between Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat.

Additional infrastructure proposals included connecting industrial parks with sewage treatment plants operated by nearby municipal corporations. This model would support a circular water economy by enabling treated water to be reused for industrial purposes, reducing overall water consumption.

Technology and Future Opportunities

Modern communication infrastructure for Simhastha 2028 was another significant topic discussed during the meeting. Participants considered implementing mission-critical communication networks for police, security agencies, disaster management teams, healthcare services, and event management.

Arya Omnitalk Solutions, a joint venture between Arvind Limited and JM Baxi Group, provides mission-critical wireless communication, walkie-talkie networks, PMRT, and public safety communication solutions. The state government is actively examining the potential deployment of such systems during the large-scale religious gathering.

Chief Minister Yadav extended an invitation to Lalbhai to participate in the Global Investors Summit 2027 in Madhya Pradesh, encouraging Arvind Limited to explore further investment opportunities in the state.
