Timeline Adjustments and Qualifying Date
According to the updated schedule, the Election Commission of India sent its directive through an August 7 letter. The commission confirmed that October 1, 2026, remains the qualifying date for this electoral roll revision exercise.
The Election Commission had “issued a revised schedule for the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the Electoral Rolls in Karnataka, with 01.10.2026 as the qualifying date.”
Verification Process Continues
Booth Level Officers commenced their house-to-house visits on June 30 and will maintain this effort through August 17. That same date marks the planned rationalisation and rearrangement of polling stations across the state.
Once the draft roll appears on August 24, citizens will have until September 23 to file claims and objections. The subsequent notice phase and the disposal of all submitted claims and objections will run through October 22.
The final electoral roll publication on October 27 arrives more than two months after the initial house-to-house verification began.
