As part of the new framework, Air India has introduced its first Easy Connect flight from Varanasi to Delhi, setting a precedent for how regional airports can integrate with the country’s broader aviation network. According to Naidu, the model will not only ease the travel process for passengers but also unlock economic opportunities by boosting trade and tourism. By reducing the logistical burden on travelers, the system ensures that baggage is tagged end-to-end, while passengers move directly from one flight to the next without repeated check-in or security procedures. Minister Naidu announced that six additional airports will be integrated into the hub-and-spoke model within the next six weeks. These include locations such as Ahmedabad, Amritsar, and Goa, which will benefit from direct links to major international hubs. IndiGo has also been invited to join the implementation, which is expected to strengthen the network and provide more options for passengers. Minister Naidu highlighted that the government has allocated ₹10,000 crore to a price stabilisation fund to mitigate the impact of fluctuating fuel prices.
