Yogi govt fast-tracks five textile and apparel parks

Yogi govt fast tracks five textile – The state government has cleared all necessary procedures for the development of five large Textile and Apparel Parks across five districts. Cabinet approval was granted for the transfer of land parcels, paving the way for these projects to move forward.

The five parks will be established in Varanasi, Amroha, Bareilly, Sant Kabir Nagar, and Bijnor. A total of more than 326 acres of land has been allocated for the initiative, according to the state administration.

PPP model and infrastructure plans

All projects will be developed under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) framework. This approach aims to draw significant investment and generate substantial employment opportunities in the state, the government stated.

The notification to form the implementing authority for these projects has been issued. The Northern India Textile Research Association (NITRA) has already submitted the pre-feasibility report for the Varanasi park, while revised reports for the remaining four parks are being finalized with industry input.

Work on the approach road for Varanasi’s Ramna Textile Park is underway. The tender process for road construction has concluded, with contract formalities now in progress. Plans for a 132 KV substation, transmission line, and 33 KV power infrastructure are also in place to ensure reliable electricity supply.

Environmental focus and market significance

Processes for environmental clearance, groundwater usage, and obtaining a No Objection Certificate from the Forest Department are currently active. The government is prioritizing sustainable development standards for all projects.

Khalilabad, the administrative hub of Sant Kabir Nagar, is home to Bardahia Bazar—the state’s largest and most historic handloom and textile market. This century-old market serves as a key trading center for wholesalers and retailers in eastern Uttar Pradesh, operating from Saturday mornings until late Monday evenings.

“The Sant Kabir Textile & Apparel Park scheme will give Uttar Pradesh a new identity in textile manufacturing, ready-made garments, technical textiles, and exports,” said the state government.
