Man kills woman s son after – Authorities in Pune have detained a 20-year-old man accused of causing the death of a three-year-old boy by strangulation. The victim was the son of a woman who had rejected the man’s request to marry her, officials confirmed on Thursday.

Details of the Tragic Event

The incident took place in Karegaon village, part of Shirur taluka, on the evening of June 17. Devanshu Aditya Sahu, the accused, is said to have informed the woman’s workplace that day about the child’s death. The complainant then reported the matter to the police.

According to Pune’s rural police superintendent, Sandeep Singh Gill, Sahu contacted the mother’s employer around 6 p.m. to notify them of the child’s demise. The preliminary inquiry revealed that the boy had died from suffocation, prompting the arrest of Sahu late Wednesday and his appearance in court the following day.

“Rani had gone to work when the incident occurred. Sahu called her company and informed them the child was no more. The complainant approached the police, and after technical analysis, the accused was taken into custody,” Gill stated.

Background of the Victim and Relationship

Rani Pappu Kaul, a native of Madhya Pradesh, had moved to the Ranjangaon MIDC area for employment. She resided there with her son and Sahu, who was the child’s stepfather. The boy was the result of her previous marriage.

Investigators noted that Sahu had been persistently urging the woman to accept his marriage proposal, despite her personal reservations and worries about her son’s future. Tensions between the two reportedly intensified over the issue, culminating in a dispute on June 17.

A case has been filed at the Ranjangaon MIDC police station, with further probe ongoing to determine the exact circumstances of the incident. The motive appears linked to the emotional conflict arising from the rejected proposal.
