Ludhiana: Former Employer and Aides Arrested in Teen’s Abduction and Assault
Incident Details Captured on CCTV
Ludhiana – A 19-year-old youth was reportedly taken by force near Giaspura Chowk in Ludhiana by his ex-employer and accomplices. The act occurred during daylight hours, and footage from nearby CCTV cameras at a petrol pump in the area documented the event. The accused allegedly compelled the victim into a vehicle, transported him, and subjected him to physical abuse at a factory location.
FIR Filed Against Suspects
The Sahnewal Police initiated a First Information Report (FIR) against Karan Kumar Yadav of Pritam Colony, Giaspura Road, Rauni, along with Anil, Pramod, Rajiv, and two unnamed individuals. The case hinges on allegations of abducting the youth with intent to secretly confine him, as well as other charges.
Victim’s Account of Unpaid Wages Dispute
Parvesh Gupta, the victim, told investigators that the abduction was tied to a unresolved conflict over unpaid salaries. He previously worked as a CNC machine operator at a factory owned by Yadav on Sua Road, Giaspura. Gupta resigned a month ago due to delayed payments, and claimed Yadav had assaulted him earlier when he demanded the owed wages.
Sequence of Events and Escape
On June 16, while commuting to work, Gupta was intercepted by a vehicle. Yadav and his aides, including Rouny, Anil, Pramod, and Rajiv, along with two unidentified youths, forced him into the car. They took him to a factory, where he was allegedly detained, beaten, and threatened with severe repercussions. The accused released him under the condition that he would not report the incident to authorities.
Public Reaction and Police Action
The abduction sparked alarm in the vicinity, with bystanders witnessing the youths dragging and handling the teenager aggressively. Some attempts to intervene were made, but the perpetrators managed to flee. ASI Karanjit Singh confirmed that an FIR was filed after the victim came forward with his complaint. The police are now actively searching for the accused, citing Sections 140(3), 127(2), 115, and 190 of the BNS.
“Karan had previously assaulted me when I demanded my pending wages,” Parvesh Gupta stated to the police.
