According to municipal authorities, eligible city dwellers will receive gardening supplies at no charge, with selections made on a first-come, first-served basis.

Program Objectives and Benefits

This initiative seeks to motivate urban populations to cultivate organic vegetables and therapeutic herbs directly on their terrace spaces without relying on chemical treatments. The government has reserved exactly 400 complete kits specifically for GB Nagar residents during this current financial year.

Only 400 kits have been allocated to Gautam Budh Nagar for this financial year. Beneficiaries will be selected on a first-come, first-served basis, so eligible residents should apply as soon as possible.

What’s Included in Each Kit

Every gardening package contains premium seeds and young plants for both vegetables and medicinal herbs. Additional items include HDPE cultivation bags, cocopeat substrate, specialized grower mix, vermicompost as natural fertilizer, essential gardening implements, and neem oil for pest management.

How to Apply

Citizens may submit their applications digitally via the department’s official websites. Following the online submission, applicants need to deliver physical copies of necessary paperwork to the district horticulture officer’s headquarters.

Applicants unable to complete the online registration can visit the district horticulture office with their documents, where staff will help them complete the registration.

Eligibility Requirements

Prospective beneficiaries must possess a minimum of 100 square feet of uncovered terrace area. The application package requires an affidavit prepared on ₹10 stamp paper, accompanied by a geo-tagged image capturing the rooftop space. Additional documentation includes two recent passport-sized photographs, a functioning mobile phone number, Aadhaar card copy, bank passbook photocopy, and verification of urban residency status.

District horticulture officer Richa Sharma emphasized that interested residents should act promptly given the limited number of available kits and the competitive selection process.
