Adityanath Stresses Quality of Elected Leaders for True Progress in Ghazipur

Bharatmorningnews.com – During a public gathering in Ghazipur on Thursday, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath emphasized that meaningful development can only occur when capable individuals are chosen as Members of Parliament and Legislative Assembly members. The Varanasi-based leader urged residents to select representatives who genuinely advocate for their concerns rather than those consumed by personal interests.

Warning Against Self-Serving Politicians

Adityanath criticized politicians who prioritize personal gain over public service. He remarked that when lawmakers spend their time securing permits for unauthorized arms rather than focusing on developmental initiatives, progress stalls entirely.

Where an MP is busy facilitating licences for illegal weapons and has no time for development work, everything is left to the mercy of God. Don’t elect such people.

The chief minister further clarified that citizens require leaders who champion their causes and prioritize advancement. He specifically mentioned that the state does not need representatives who enable criminal activities through fraudulent documentation, including land seizures and organized robbery operations.

Double-Engine Government and Historical Recognition

Adityanath called upon voters to back the BJP-led administration while warning against parties he accused of undermining regional identity. He criticized the Samajwadi Party and Congress for elevating foreign conquerors while neglecting indigenous heroes.

The BJP government has honoured Maharaja Suheldev. A thousand years ago, national hero Maharaja Suheldev crushed Salar Masud at Chittaura in Bahraich. Despite this, the SP and Congress never allowed any event to be held in Suheldev’s name; instead, they facilitated a fair dedicated to Masud.

The chief minister outlined several initiatives undertaken by the BJP government to commemorate Maharaja Suheldev. These include erecting a monumental statue at Chittaura in Bahraich, establishing a medical institution bearing his name, founding a university in Azamgarh, launching the Suheldev Superfast Express connecting Ghazipur with Anand Vihar, and releasing a commemorative postage stamp.

Additionally, Adityanath alleged that the former SP administration had altered names of institutions dedicated to Maharaja Suheldev, Lokmata Ahilyabai Holkar, and Sant Ravidas, calling such actions disrespectful toward distinguished historical figures.

Ghazipur’s Patriotic Heritage

Highlighting the district’s distinguished past, Adityanath noted Ghazipur’s longstanding tradition of military service and patriotism. He referenced notable figures such as Veer Abdul Hamid and various literary personalities from the region.

The chief minister pointed out that Gahmar, recognized as Asia’s largest village, houses more than 12,000 active military personnel and officers alongside over 15,000 veterans. He emphasized that residents of Ghazipur demonstrated unwavering courage during India’s independence movement, tribal incursions, and multiple conflicts including the 1962, 1965, and 1971 wars, the 1999 Kargil engagement, and Operation Sindoor.

Dozens of youths from the region also joined the Azad Hind Fauj (Indian National Army) formed by Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose.

Employment and Agricultural Benefits

Adityanath highlighted opportunities available to young people in Uttar Pradesh through various government programs. He mentioned that over the previous twelve years, hundreds of thousands of youth secured positions through schemes including PM Startup, PM Stand-Up, Digital India, and Mission Rozgar.

In UP, more than 9 lakh youths obtained government jobs in the last nine years without needing recommendations or paying bribes. Farmers are benefiting from crop loan waivers and the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme. When the energy of the youth is channelled in a positive direction, it sets new benchmarks for progress.

The chief minister concluded by asserting that Uttar Pradesh has transformed significantly under BJP leadership, with residents now receiving recognition nationwide and no longer facing identity-related challenges.
