Video Shows Motorcycle Being Hit
Sia had been travelling on her Aprilia sportbike with a group of riders when the incident unfolded. She said a white Maruti Ciaz began following her closely and that its driver repeatedly gestured for her to pull over.
“He had started chasing me on the Golf Course Road. I asked him to drive while maintaining distance. He kept making gestures ordering me to stop my bike,” she said in the video.
She alleged that the driver seemed intoxicated. A friend attempted to shield her while the group was riding, but she said the car ultimately hit her motorcycle.
“My friend tried to cover during the ride…but at the end it rammed me,” she said.
Camera recordings from motorcycles in the group appear to show the Ciaz moving toward Sia’s bike before making contact. The impact threw her from the motorcycle and sent her sliding along the road for several metres. Her bike skidded for nearly 100 metres.

Driver Escaped After Being Stopped
One of Sia’s companions followed the car and managed to stop it at a traffic signal. The driver, however, left the location before he could be held. Sia also posted the registration number of the vehicle in her social-media upload.
“I have nothing to say, but today I felt unsafe on Gurugram roads. People like these aren’t afraid of hitting people and running away,” she wrote.
She later removed the post after it spread widely and police action began. Police said she has asked for her identity and other personal details to remain private.
Abhilaksh Joshi, ACP (headquarters), said the police social-media cell moved after the video surfaced. Officers first tried to reach the rider, but did not receive a response. An FIR was then registered at Sector 56 police station against the car driver under Section 125 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, dealing with acts that endanger life or personal safety, and Section 281, concerning rash driving.
“We initially tried to contact the victim but after no response was received, we got an FIR registered against the car driver under sections 125 (act endangering life or personal safety of others) and 281 (rash driving) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita at Sector 56 police station,” Joshi said.
Police Identify Suspected Driver
Police identified the suspected driver as Kalyan Bainsla, described as a Palwal gym owner and former kabaddi player. Two other people were present in the car, Joshi said. Investigators said Bainsla had borrowed the vehicle from a friend.
The Maruti Ciaz is registered in Palwal and belongs to an Army personnel posted in Assam. The owner’s friend had taken the vehicle two days before the incident, police said.
Joshi said the FIR may be strengthened after Sia provides a written account detailing what occurred. Her statement could help investigators establish the sequence of events, assess the allegations of pursuit and dangerous driving, and determine whether further legal provisions should be added.
“Once the victim submits a written complaint detailing the incident, more stringent provisions of law will be invoked in the FIR,” Joshi said.
The ACP said Sia, a Delhi resident, had been returning from an early-morning ride with friends when the collision occurred. The search for the suspected driver is continuing.
Car Owner Says He Was Unaware
Manish, the registered owner of the car, said he learned of the matter only after the footage went viral and police contacted him. He said Bainsla, his friend, had been driving the vehicle.
“My friend Kalyan Bainsla, who runs a gym in Palwal, was driving my car. I was completely unaware about any such accident,” Manish said.
Manish said he tried to call Bainsla after discovering the allegation, but did not receive a response.
The case underlines why road users are urged to avoid confrontations, maintain safe distance and seek help through emergency services when they feel threatened. For motorcycle riders, a close pass or deliberate swerve can have consequences far beyond a routine traffic dispute, particularly on fast-moving urban corridors such as Golf Course Road.
