Bihar’s Industrial Transformation and Economic Momentum

Choudhary highlighted Bihar’s strategic focus on industrial growth, stressing the state’s commitment to becoming a major manufacturing hub. He pointed to the government’s efforts to streamline approvals and create a more favorable business environment, which he said has already led to a significant increase in investment. “Bihar to play a leading role in the resolve for Viksit Bharat-2047 requires robust industrial development,” he noted, adding that the state is on track to complete industrial investments worth ₹5 lakh crore by November 20. “We have initiated the development of a state-of-the-art data center in Bihar, which will not only attract IT and tech investments but also position the state as a regional leader in digital infrastructure,” Choudhary explained. His vision includes modernizing manufacturing sectors and leveraging Bihar’s geographical advantages to foster economic integration with neighboring states.

The Chief Minister also outlined plans to accelerate business approvals, aiming to reduce processing time to within 30 days. This initiative, he claimed, would enhance operational efficiency and encourage private sector participation. By simplifying bureaucratic hurdles, Bihar hopes to become a model for other states in terms of investor-friendly policies and rapid project execution.

Defense Corridor and Connectivity Infrastructure

Bihar’s role in national defense and infrastructure development has taken a significant step forward with the announcement of a dedicated defense corridor in Rajgir and Munger. Choudhary described this as a strategic move to bolster the state’s contribution to India’s defense manufacturing ambitions, which align with Viksit Bharat-2047’s focus on self-reliance. The corridor is expected to generate employment opportunities and attract investments in aerospace and military technology.

Complementing the defense initiative, the state has also launched a new airstrip project in the Sasaram-Kaimur region. “As of June 12, over ₹1,500 crore remains in the treasury, demonstrating our commitment to financial discipline,” the Chief Minister stated. He reiterated that the government would not hesitate to address any discrepancies in fund usage, particularly those linked to the Bihar Contingency Fund (BCF) controversy. “If evidence emerges against anyone, regardless of their position or agency, they will face accountability,” he vowed, reinforcing the state’s resolve to maintain transparency.

The announcement of contractor Rishu Shree’s arrest further bolstered Choudhary’s message of anti-corruption. By taking decisive action against officials tied to the BCF scandal, the government aims to restore public trust and set a precedent for ethical governance.
