The chief electoral officer’s latest figures indicate that 33.16 percent of the total enumeration documents have yet to enter the digital system.
By 8 pm on August 15, the digitization effort had captured 9,698,217 records from a grand total of 14,510,299 forms scattered throughout the national capital. This leaves 4,812,082 documents waiting for electronic conversion before the August 17 cutoff date.
District-Wise Progress Report
While every single elector across all 13 districts has received their enumeration form, the speed of processing differs considerably from one area to another. North Delhi leads the pack with an impressive 75.64 percent completion rate, followed closely by the western region at 73.06 percent and the southwestern zone at 72.93 percent.
Meanwhile, the southeastern sector shows more work ahead. Out of 1,557,000 forms in this area, only 55.63 percent have been digitized, meaning over 690,000 documents still need processing. The New Delhi district has reached 60.64 percent, while southern and central areas stand at 60.80 percent and 61.78 percent respectively.
Ensuring Electoral Integrity
This ongoing exercise falls under SIR Phase III, with the enumeration period running from June 30 through August 17. According to the CEO’s office, the primary objectives are twofold: guaranteeing that every qualified voter finds their name on the electoral roll while simultaneously filtering out those who do not meet eligibility requirements.
With nearly 4.8 million forms still pending electronic entry, election personnel are preparing for an intensive workload during the final stretch of the enumeration phase.
