When I came to know about the posts, I approached the police to take action against her to send a message in society that abusive language cannot be used for views and followers.

During the course of their investigation, Noida police officers discovered that while the accused woman owns an apartment in a high-rise complex within Sector 168, the property remains unoccupied. She currently resides in Uncha village, located in Faridabad, which explains the jurisdictional complexity of the case.

Charges and Legal Framework

Manisha Singh, additional deputy commissioner of police in Noida, confirmed that the zero FIR was filed on Wednesday night. The charges against the woman include Section 352 for intentional insult, Section 353(1) covering statements conducing to public mischief, and Section 356(1) addressing defamation—all provisions under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.

In her comprehensive written complaint, Smriti Singh argued that the accused’s conduct during the Jantar Mantar gathering not only diminished the dignity of the Prime Minister’s constitutional position but also allegedly sought to incite hatred and disrupt communal harmony within the community.
