Double Death Mystery in Hardoi: Water Tank Workers Found Dead

Bharatmorningnews.com – Uttar Pradesh’s Hardoi district is grappling with a puzzling double homicide case after two laborers connected to a Jal Jeevan Mission water tank construction site were discovered deceased near a field alongside a road on Thursday. Local authorities have launched a comprehensive probe into the incident.

Victims Identified

Upon receiving the alert at approximately 11 a.m., the Dial 112 control room relayed details about two corpses found on the Atrauli pathway, situated between Takiya and Atamau villages. The location was roughly 500 meters away from a water tank currently being built within the Sandila police station jurisdiction.

Senior law enforcement personnel quickly arrived at the scene for thorough examination. The deceased have been named as Arun Chaurasia, aged 26, whose father Jaiprakash Chaurasia hails from Renso village under Kachhauna police station, and Abhishek Chaurasia, 27, son of Shivram Chaurasia from Gohania village in the same jurisdiction.

Both men were actively employed at the water tank project. Arun served as a helper, while Abhishek—also called Bablu—worked as a pickup vehicle driver at the site and lived in Lucknow’s Faizullaganj area.

Investigation Underway

According to eyewitnesses, the bodies were first noticed around 10:30 a.m. Hardoi SP Ashok Meena confirmed that three separate teams have been assembled to investigate the case, including units headed by the Sandila circle officer and the additional superintendent of police (East).

Police are examining every angle, including the circumstances leading to the deaths and the identity of those responsible for the crime.

Medical examination revealed visible wounds on both victims’ heads and faces. Arun sustained a particularly severe injury close to his eye. Officials stated that the precise cause of death will be determined following post-mortem tests.
