Kerala Mimicry Performer Claims Online Harassment Following Viral Video Incident

Bharatmorningnews.com – A stage entertainer from Kerala is claiming he has faced online harassment after a recording from his overseas performance went viral. The clip shows him imitating the voice of Chief Minister V D Satheesan, and some viewers have accused him of displaying disrespect toward the political leader.

Mahesh Kunjumon, the mimicry artist in question, explained that the situation began during a show in Ireland. While performing, he spoke the name “V D Satheesan” into his microphone. At that moment, he was directing the person operating the LED screen to bring up a file showing the chief minister’s photograph.

Clarification and Apology

In a message posted on Facebook, Kunjumon stated that his use of the name was purely technical. He was simply reading the file name for the operator and did not mean to offend anyone by omitting titles such as “Chief Minister” or “Sir.”

“If my actions have caused hurt or offended anyone, I sincerely apologise. It was never my intention to insult or hurt anyone. I respect everyone equally,” he said.

The performer noted that social media users only saw a fragment of the full performance. This limited view gave the false impression that he had intentionally addressed the chief minister without proper respect.

Kunjumon also called for people to voice their disagreements politely. He warned that harsh and insulting messages can lead to significant mental suffering. To support his claims, he posted images showing several abusive comments he received on his social media profile.
