Prakash Raj Joins CJP Rally in Bengaluru

Prakash Raj joins CJP Protest in Bengaluru – On Sunday, actor Prakash Raj and education advocate Sonam Wangchuk participated in a protest in Bengaluru, criticizing perceived flaws in India’s academic framework. The gathering, organized by the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP), drew attention to issues surrounding recruitment and competitive exams, with Raj endorsing the movement’s goals.

Protest Amid Rainy Conditions

Despite heavy rain, the demonstration at Freedom Park attracted students, activists, and campaign allies. Participants demanded legal action to address concerns about examination practices, including allegations of paper leaks.

“Prime Minister Narendra Modi is the most educated leader. He’s studied political science thoroughly and understands how the system operates. Why then is he silent on repeated claims of exam fraud?” Raj challenged during his speech.

“I dreamt of Sonam Wangchuk leading the Education Ministry. His dedication to reimagining education is unmatched. Who else would champion students’ causes with such vision?” Raj added, highlighting Wangchuk’s role as a reformer.

Wangchuk, while appreciative of Raj’s support, emphasized that the ministry should be led by someone embodying his principles rather than himself. “The minister should mirror his values, not necessarily him,” he clarified, sharing his motivation for attending the event.

CJP’s Political Stance and Campaign Growth

Wangchuk linked the education crisis to a broader national issue, stating, “India’s challenges go beyond economics. It’s now a trust deficit.” He also humorously noted the anxiety of citizens, saying, “If people must live in fear, they might as well have been born in China—at least the trains would be faster.”

The CJP, founded by Abhijeet Dipke, adopted its name after being labeled “cockroaches” during legal proceedings. The group expanded its focus from exam irregularities to a wider critique of governance, with Dipke present at the rally.

“The movement began with a single tweet, which ignited a nationwide outcry,” said CJP spokesperson Saurav Dass. “We’re confronting everyone, including the Supreme Court and the Chief Justice, who called us ‘cockroaches.’”

Arun Dev, an assistant editor at Hindustan Times’ Karnataka bureau, reported on the event. With over a decade of experience in journalism, he has covered crime and political developments extensively.
