Absconding builder found hiding in cupboard – A builder accused of fleeing for two years was discovered concealed in a cupboard during a police raid. The individual, identified as Salman Dolare, 40, was apprehended on Saturday in a flat located within the Khotal Manzil building of the Doodhnaka area.
Dolare is charged with erecting unauthorized structures on government-reserved land using falsified paperwork. A total of 12 criminal cases have been filed against him at the Bazarpeth and Mahatma Phule police stations. For nearly two years, he managed to evade capture despite repeated attempts by authorities.
Raid Unearths Hidden Figure
Following a lead, law enforcement conducted a raid to locate Dolare. Although initial searches failed to find him, officers eventually uncovered his presence inside a cupboard during the operation.
Investigators are examining multiple projects linked to Dolare, including Yusuf Heights and Mariam Tower, which are alleged to have been built on reserved plots with forged documents. His arrest may help reveal the broader network behind these developments.
“During the joint operation, Dolare was arrested,” stated Baliramsingh Pardeshi, a senior police inspector at Mahatma Phule police station.
Officials are also investigating the theft of project-related files after a complaint was filed by the Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation. This follows allegations of coordinated efforts to conceal evidence of illegal construction activities.
