A Life Cut Short

Reagan Michelle Simmons-Hancock was born on November 14, 1998, in the small east Texas town of New Boston. At the time of her death, she was seven and a half months pregnant, preparing to welcome her second child, a daughter named Braxlynn Sage.

The Unseen Connection

Reagan had connected with Taylor Parker through online platforms, eventually forming a close friendship. Parker played a role in capturing key moments of Reagan’s life, including her engagement photos in 2019 and wedding pictures in 2020.

On the day before the fatal incident, October 8, 2020, Parker visited Reagan’s home to deliver Starbucks and a baby gift. The next morning, the same visitor returned, leading to a deadly confrontation.

Reagan was brutally attacked with a hammer and knife, her body subjected to over 100 stab wounds. Testimony from Dallas County Medical Examiner Dr. Melinda Flores revealed that 39 of these injuries targeted her head, with her skull fractured in five locations. The unborn child, Braxlynn Sage, was removed from her womb during the assault. Her three-year-old daughter was present in the home at the time.

Reagan’s family expressed their anguish after Parker’s conviction in 2022. During the sentencing, a relative confronted her directly in court, stating,
