Nine Held for Opening Fire at E-Commerce Warehouse

Nine held for opening fire at e – Authorities in Gurugram have arrested nine individuals, including a contractor, following an incident where gunfire and vehicle damage occurred at an e-commerce company’s warehouse in Bilaspur. The police confirmed the arrests, stating the suspects allegedly fired multiple rounds and destroyed at least 15 cars after entering the premises.

The attack unfolded between 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. on Wednesday, as a group of 20 to 30 people, reportedly led by a contractor, stormed the warehouse building. Investigators noted that the suspects began damaging vehicles and fired approximately 20 to 25 rounds. The chaos persisted for nearly an hour before the perpetrators fled the scene.

Business Rivalry Sparks the Violence

Sandeep Turan, the Gurugram police public relations officer, cited business rivalry as the trigger for the incident. “The contract for supplying labor to handle goods at the warehouse had recently expired, prompting the e-commerce firm to engage a new contractor,” he explained.

“The previous contractor sought to remove his competitor from the work site to reclaim the contract,” Turan added.

Following a report from the warehouse manager, a First Information Report (FIR) was filed at Bilaspur police station under several sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Arms Act. These include 109 (1) for attempted murder, 190 for unlawful assembly, 191(3) for rioting with deadly weapons, 324(4) for damage exceeding ₹20,000 but under ₹1,00,000, and 351(3) for criminal intimidation through threats of death or severe injury.
