Man held for stabbing co worker – On Tuesday, authorities announced the arrest of a 27-year-old man for allegedly killing a fellow worker with scissors during a dispute at a garment factory in east Delhi’s Gandhi Nagar. The incident occurred on the night of June 4, sparking a criminal investigation into the circumstances surrounding the fatal attack.
Arrest and Evidence Recovery
The accused, identified as Arwaz, a resident of Sangam Vihar in south Delhi, was apprehended in Uttam Nagar on June 7. Police recovered a pair of bloodstained scissors believed to be the murder weapon, as well as the clothing he wore during the altercation.
“The victim was admitted to Dr Hedgewar Hospital with severe stab wounds on June 5 but could not provide information about the attack,” stated Deputy Commissioner of Police (Shahdara) RP Meena. “He later left the hospital without informing medical staff and refused to engage with investigators.”
Timeline of Events
On June 6, hospital officials informed police that Krishan Kumar, the deceased, had passed away from his injuries. Kumar was brought to GTB Hospital by his family, marking the point when the case was officially registered. The ongoing probe is examining the events leading up to the tragedy.
During the investigation, police visited the Raghuwarpura factory where Kumar worked. Witnesses recounted that a conflict erupted among employees who had consumed alcohol inside the premises on June 4. According to reports, Arwaz attacked Kumar with scissors before escaping the scene.
Legal Proceedings
An FIR under Section 103(1) (murder) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita has been filed, and further inquiries are being conducted to establish the full sequence of events.
