During the 40th anniversary celebrations of Swami Keshwanand Rajasthan Agricultural University in Bikaner, the governor delivered a compelling message about the role of academic institutions in shaping future leaders. Speaking at the Dr K.N. Nag Memorial Lecture Series on Saturday, he emphasized that intellectual development should be given equal importance alongside traditional teaching methodologies. The governor highlighted the institution’s remarkable journey over four decades, noting that more than 28,000 graduates have earned agricultural degrees from the university since its establishment. He recommended creating comprehensive records of former students who have achieved distinction both domestically and abroad, ensuring their contributions are properly documented for future generations. This archival effort would serve as an inspiration for current students and demonstrate the university’s lasting impact on the agricultural sector.

Bagde motivated learners to pursue careers through competitive tests like RPSC and UPSC examinations, enabling them to join decision-making frameworks at various levels of government. Union Minister of State for Law and Justice Arjun Ram Meghwal announced that the university received approval under the India AI Mission for establishing an Industry 4.0 Centre of Excellence focused on agriculture. The project carries a budget allocation of ₹20 crore and promises benefits for local farmers and research professionals alike. This initiative represents a significant step toward modernizing agricultural education and research in Rajasthan.

At the ceremony, Governor Bagde presented Meghwal with the university’s highest academic distinction, Doctor of Science. Before the main function, the governor opened a drone training facility sanctioned by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation and managed by the university’s Remote Pilot Training Organisation. He concluded his visit by planting a tree sapling and touring an exhibition displaying institutional accomplishments and ongoing initiatives.
