Yogi Adityanath Warns of Social Media Campaigns to Undermine India’s Growth
Bharatmorningnews.com – Attempts will be made to weaken India through coordinated social media campaigns, according to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Speaking on Tuesday, the Chief Minister alleged that forces opposed to India’s rapid rise on the global stage would attempt to weaken the country through fake accounts, misinformation, and strategic efforts to create divisions within society. These coordinated attacks, he warned, represent a significant challenge to national unity and progress.
Addressing a felicitation ceremony for the newly elected executive committee of the Bar Association at Civil Court, Gorakhpur, on Tuesday afternoon, Adityanath highlighted India’s remarkable transformation over the past twelve years. He emphasized that the nation has developed robust infrastructure, preserved its rich cultural heritage, and emerged as a global centre of attraction for investment and talent alike.
Economic Rise Sparks External Conspiracies
The Chief Minister pointed out that India’s economic ascent from being counted among the “bottom five” economies to becoming one of the world’s top five economies had not gone down well with certain countries. “Some countries believe that India will soon be among the top three economies alongside the United States and China,” Adityanath noted. “To stop India’s rise, many conspiracies will be hatched.”
He elaborated that such attempts will be made to weaken India through fake accounts on social media platforms. These campaigns aim to instigate caste groups against one another, create social discord, and encourage divisions based on region, language, and caste. The strategy, according to the CM, is designed to fragment society from within while projecting an image of instability internationally.
“These efforts are aimed at weakening India. There will also be attempts to weaken every institution. Questions will be raised over the judiciary, the executive and the legislature,” Adityanath stated firmly.
Adityanath emphasized that the legal fraternity has a significant role to play in such circumstances. He described lawyers as aware representatives of society who must remain vigilant against misleading narratives. The Chief Minister underscored their vital responsibility in safeguarding constitutional values, strengthening the rule of law, and guiding society with integrity during this critical period.
Asserting India’s growing independence, Adityanath declared that the nation had become self-reliant in policymaking and no longer looked to former colonial powers for direction. “For the first time, India is deciding its own policies and shaping its own future. No country in the world will dictate to India. India itself will determine its course,” he affirmed with confidence.
The CM also highlighted that UP’s improved law and order situation had strengthened public confidence and created an environment conducive to development and investment. He added that the legal fraternity has an important role in preserving justice and ensuring the effective implementation of the law across the state.
In a significant announcement for the legal community, Adityanath assured advocates that the state government would develop a comprehensive system to provide cashless medical treatment for lawyers. He revealed that the Advocate Welfare Fund had been increased from ₹1.5 lakh to ₹5 lakh, with a ₹500-crore corpus created for this purpose.
He further noted that thousands of advocates had already received financial assistance, while several initiatives were undertaken to improve court infrastructure, lawyers’ chambers, and legal facilities. Additionally, UP had strengthened its forensic infrastructure in line with the implementation of the new criminal laws, ensuring better justice delivery mechanisms.
Adityanath concluded by advising advocates to remain vigilant against the spread of rumours and misinformation on social media. “In the age of powerful social media, the spread of rumours and misinformation has become a serious threat to social harmony. Advocates must act responsibly and help society distinguish facts from falsehood while protecting the dignity of the judicial system,” he emphasized, reinforcing the message that attempts will be made to weaken India through various channels, but the legal community stands ready to counter them.
