BJP Leaders Commend Dharmendra Pradhan’s Educational Contributions Following Resignation

Outgoing education minister Dharmendra Pradhan received widespread acclaim from senior BJP figures on Saturday, with many highlighting his pivotal role in executing the National Education Policy 2020 and introducing significant transformations to the nation’s learning framework after announcing his departure.

The resignation followed several weeks of intense demonstrations by students across Delhi, who had been demanding Pradhan’s exit due to examination controversies, most notably the NEET-UG question paper scandal.

Assam Chief Minister’s Appreciation

Assam’s Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma voiced his appreciation for Pradhan’s contributions, noting that the minister’s work helped fortify India’s educational infrastructure while promoting the nation’s cultural heritage.

Sarma emphasized that Pradhan dedicated himself to “restoring the civilisational spirit of Bharat” and furthered the movement toward decolonising education. He also commended the minister’s resolve in pursuing NEP implementation despite encountering various political obstacles.

“His unwavering commitment to implementing the National Education Policy, despite the political challenges it entailed, will be remembered as one of his finest contributions to nation-building,” Sarma remarked.

Party Leaders’ Tributes

BJP representative Nitin Nabin characterized Pradhan’s choice to leave office as a demonstration of accountability and devotion to public service. He acknowledged the minister’s instrumental position in transforming India’s educational framework through NEP 2020 execution alongside additional programs.

“Prioritising larger interests, his decision to step down reflects the highest standards of integrity and selfless service in public life,” Nabin stated.

Nabin further noted that the party remained supportive of Pradhan and conveyed best wishes for his upcoming endeavors.

BJP leader Amit Malviya portrayed Pradhan’s time in office as among the most revolutionary eras for India’s educational domain. According to Malviya, the minister’s guidance centered on growing institutions, enhancing accessibility, adopting technological solutions, and reinforcing India’s cultural foundations within education.

“His stewardship was marked by structural reforms, institutional expansion, greater inclusivity, technological modernisation and a renewed emphasis on India’s civilisational ethos,” Malviya explained.

Malviya added that Pradhan’s methodology sought to develop an educational framework suited for twenty-first-century requirements while maintaining strong ties to India’s historical legacy.

Student Protest Resolution

Following the announcement that CJP would withdraw their demonstration and the government would eliminate all police cases filed against participating students, BJP MP Manoj Tiwari shared his perspective with PTI regarding the Prime Minister’s response.

“The Prime Minister himself has shown sensitivity, responsibility and accountability towards students. The way he is connecting with them is unprecedented. He is committed to protecting students’ interests and will go to any extent for them. Every decision taken by the Prime Minister is welcome. The students’ demands have been accepted, so the protest should now be withdrawn. Prime Minister’s every word is firm and important, and students should respect the steps he is taking,” Tiwari stated.
