Joe Biden Cancer Update: Jill Biden Reflects on Challenges of Being a Caretaker

Joe Biden cancer update - Dr. Jill Biden, the former first lady, shared recent insights about former President Joe Biden’s cancer on Saturday. She mentioned that while the 83-year-old will live with the condition for the rest of his life, he remains active despite a more subdued pace.

In an interview with Ana Navarro, a political commentator and co-host of The View, for her upcoming memoir View From the East Wing, Biden highlighted that during his presidency, his medical team managed his health. However, she observed that he needed to get up seven times nightly for bathroom trips, which she expected someone to handle, according to the NY Post.

Upon leaving the White House in 2025, she noted that the issue continued, prompting her to recommend a urologist visit. The doctor’s initial assessment,

“There’s something there,”

resulted in a CAT scan for the former president.

She added that he received radiation therapy, necessitating multiple trips between their Delaware home and Philadelphia over five weeks.

“It takes a toll,” she remarked, pointing out that Joe was in South Dakota for a Democratic event Friday, at a friend’s wedding Saturday, and planned to be in Philadelphia Sunday.

“He maintains his schedule, but it’s not as vigorous as before,”

she observed.

Regarding the cancer’s progression, Jill Biden noted that while some cases of prostate cancer can be cured, Joe’s is at stage four and has metastasized to his bones.

“He’ll have to live with cancer for the rest of his life, requiring specialized medication,”

she explained.
