Women's Asia Cup Fixtures Unveiled: India-Pakistan Clash on September 5

Bharatmorningnews.com – The Asian Cricket Council has officially announced the timeline for the forthcoming Women's Asia Cup tournament. Scheduled to run from late August through September, the competition will unfold across venues in the United Arab Emirates. Cricket enthusiasts have been eagerly awaiting this announcement, particularly for the highly anticipated encounter between India and Pakistan, which is slated for September 5 at the Dubai International Stadium.

Organizers have confirmed that the tournament will feature eight national teams competing in the T20 format. The participating nations include India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Hong Kong, China, Thailand, and Indonesia. This gathering comes at a strategic time, occurring just days before the Asian Games, providing teams with valuable preparation for the larger event. Notably, both India and Pakistan have already secured automatic qualification to the quarter-finals of the Asian Games.

Group Stage Arrangements

The eight teams have been divided into two groups for the preliminary stage. Group A consists of India, Pakistan, Thailand, and Hong Kong. Meanwhile, Group B features Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Indonesia, and China.

The tournament kicks off on August 28 with a match between Thailand and Hong Kong. India will begin their campaign on August 30, facing Thailand in their opening fixture. Sri Lanka enters the tournament as the defending titleholders, having defeated India in the previous final edition.

India's Upcoming South Africa Tour

In related cricket news, Cricket South Africa has updated the itinerary for India's upcoming tour of the Rainbow Nation. The revised schedule now includes a three-match T20I series, which was absent from the initial announcement. Originally, the tour was planned to feature only one-off Test match and ODI series.

According to the updated calendar, the single Test match will be held from December 9 through December 12. The ODI series is scheduled to conclude between December 16 and 22. The newly added T20I matches will take place from December 26 to 30.
