Union ministers BJP CMs hail Modi - New Delhi: On Friday, a group of Union ministers and state chief ministers affiliated with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) gathered to acknowledge the accomplishments of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's administration during its 12-year tenure. They highlighted improvements in infrastructure, welfare systems, national security, and women's empowerment, while emphasizing the government's progress toward establishing a "Viksit Bharat" by 2047.
12-Year Milestone and Strategic Achievements
Prime Minister Modi reached a significant milestone on June 10, becoming India's longest-serving elected leader with 4,399 days in office. Over this period, his government has tackled critical challenges, including the elimination of left-wing terrorism, the creation of digital payment systems like the JAM trinity and UPI, and the expansion of transportation networks. These efforts have also reinforced national defense strategies and addressed the aftermath of global crises, including a pandemic and international conflicts.
Women's Empowerment and Safety Initiatives
Union Home Minister Amit Shah emphasized the Modi government's focus on women's dignity and empowerment. "From campaigns promoting girl child education to providing over 10 crore clean cooking gas connections and more than 12 crore sanitation facilities, women's needs have been central to policy design," he stated. Shah also mentioned initiatives such as Mudra and 'Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam,' which have enabled women to take on roles as entrepreneurs and decision-makers.
"From 'Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao' to over 10 crore gas connections under the Ujjwala scheme and more than 12 crore toilets, the dignity and convenience of women have been accorded the highest priority," Shah said.
Infrastructure and Global Recognition
Union Minister Kiren Rijiju pointed to the transformative impact of Modi's leadership, particularly in infrastructure and manufacturing. "India's growth as a global manufacturing hub and its enhanced connectivity reflect the government's visionary approach," he noted. The expansion of roads, railways, and airports has been a key focus, enabling the nation to assert itself on the world stage.
"India has undergone a 'remarkable transformation' under Modi’s leadership, citing advances in infrastructure, connectivity, manufacturing and national security," Rijiju said.
Progress Toward a Developed India
Union Minister JP Nadda described the past 4,399 days as a "golden era" of unprecedented development. "The government has laid a strong foundation for achieving the goal of a developed India by 2047," he remarked. Nadda highlighted the country's strides in welfare programs and governance as pivotal to this long-term vision.
State-Level Contributions and Regional Achievements
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath called the last 12 years a "transformative period" driven by inclusive policies and infrastructure growth. Maharashtra's Devendra Fadnavis praised Modi as "not only the longest serving but the finest serving" Prime Minister, noting the "360-degree transformation" in India's development trajectory.
Delhi CM Rekha Gupta recognized Modi's influence on urban mobility, citing the Metro rail network's expansion to over 1,000 kilometers and India's rise as the third-largest aviation market. She also highlighted the country's digital transformation as a major achievement.
Gujarat's Bhupendra Patel stressed the importance of leveraging Modi's flagship projects and governance reforms to realize India's development goals. Haryana's Nayab Singh Saini reiterated that the nation is entering a new era under Modi's guidance, with rapid progress in trust-building and public welfare.
Key National Achievements
Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant celebrated Modi's tenure for three major milestones: the integration of Jammu and Kashmir into India through the abrogation of Article 370, the reduction of terrorism and Naxalism, and the construction of the Ram Mandir. "The dream of an 'undivided India' was realized, and the country is now stronger, more secure, and united," Sawant stated.
"During PM Modi’s tenure, the dream of an 'undivided India' was realised; with the abrogation of Article 370, Jammu and Kashmir became an integral part of the country. Creating a Naxal-free and terrorism-free India is the second major achievement of his tenure, and the construction of the Ram Mandir is the third," Sawant said.
