Two flights were scheduled on Tuesday—one departing at 2:30 pm and another in the evening—to transport the lawmakers to Karnataka, a state traditionally considered a strong Congress stronghold. This decision reflects the party’s intent to create a focused environment for discussions and planning, ensuring all members are aligned in their strategies for the Rajya Sabha elections.

Political analysts note that the Congress’s move is a response to the BJP’s aggressive outreach to potential defectors. The BJP has nominated three candidates in Madhya Pradesh, where it needs nine more assembly members to secure the third Rajya Sabha seat. By gathering legislators in Karnataka, the Congress seeks to reinforce its position and mitigate the risk of losing key votes to the ruling party.
