Giaspura challenged former Punjab home minister Sukhbir Singh Badal’s assertion that he did not know about the theft of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji on June 1, 2015. He said an Intelligence Wing report had been forwarded at the time and added that Badal’s personal secretary had provided information to the SIT.

He noted that the chargesheet in the Kotkapura case names Sukhbir Singh Badal, former police chief Charanjit Sharma, Paramraj Singh Umranangal and Sumedh Singh Saini. All four are on bail. On the Behbal Kalan matter, Giaspura referred to documents connected with Badal’s bail proceedings, saying they indicated that Badal was in Punjab during the relevant period. He maintained that the circumstances surrounding both the police action and the sacrilege cases require full scrutiny.
The deaths of Krishan Bhagwan Singh and Gurjit Singh remain central to the demand for justice. Giaspura said the SIT should identify not only those who carried out the action but also those who made decisions at higher levels. Giaspura also alleged that a proposed BJP-Akali alliance was intended to provide political protection in the beadbi and firing cases. He further claimed that such an alliance could seek the return of the three farm laws. He said the Bhagwant Mann-led Punjab government had introduced stringent provisions relating to beadbi, including life imprisonment and denial of bail for those found guilty.
