Farah Khan Left Shah Rukh Khan’s Performance to Meet Michael Jackson, Recalls Their Unforgettable Conversation

A Moment of Starstruck Connection

Farah Khan left Shah Rukh Khan - Farah Khan frequently highlights her deep respect for the late King of Pop, Michael Jackson. The acclaimed filmmaker and choreographer has shared stories of her admiration for the iconic musician, including a personal anecdote from a recent vlog. During this segment, she revisited a memorable encounter that left her speechless, describing the brief yet profound dialogue she had with the global music legend.

The Event That Changed Everything

As part of a celebration for her series *Campus Beats*, Farah visited Shruti Sinha’s home, where actor Shantanu Maheshwari was also present. While discussing her background, Shruti revealed her eight-year ballet training in Delhi. Farah then shared how she had always idolized Michael Jackson, prompting Shantanu to note that few Indians had met the legendary artist.

“Shah Rukh was performing, and I had gone to choreograph for him, Aishwarya, and the team. The event sponsor mentioned Michael Jackson might arrive as the chief guest. I was eager to meet him, so I left the wings—Shah Rukh’s performance was about to begin, and the sponsor asked, ‘But ma’am, what about your performance?’ I replied, ‘To hell with it. If Shah Rukh will be around when we return home,’” Farah recalled.

A Photographer’s Tribute

Farah also shared her interaction with Michael Jackson, describing the intimate setting. “They took me to his room, which was entirely dark because he disliked bright lights. I still get chills just thinking about it. He was so soft-spoken that he asked, ‘What’s your name?’ I told him Farah Khan, and he said, ‘Such a powerful name.’ Then, I snapped a photo of him, still standing, and later removed the sponsors from the image,” she explained.

Advocating for Jackson’s Legacy

When Michael Jackson’s biopic faced criticism earlier this year, Farah took to Instagram to defend the film. Sharing a photo of herself with the icon, she wrote, “Point to be noted… critics are morons in every country! Go watch Michael! And someone, please give Jaafar Jackson the Oscar next year.”

Currently, Farah is focused on her YouTube vlog channel, which recently celebrated its Gold Play Button milestone. She has also hinted at starting a new directorial project by year’s end, expressing her desire to collaborate with Shah Rukh Khan once he can set aside time for the endeavor.
