Congress to launch agitation against unemployment, paper leak from June end
Congress to Initiate Countrywide Protest Against Unemployment and Rising Costs
Congress to launch agitation against unemployment - The Indian National Congress (INC) has announced plans to escalate its opposition to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's administration, focusing on unemployment, inflation, and the impact of exam-related disruptions. This decision was made by party general secretary KC Venugopal during a recent gathering with key Congress leaders, including state committee heads and AICC officials.
Political Context and Agitation Strategy
Venugopal emphasized that the meeting centered on evaluating the current political climate, particularly highlighting the economic challenges facing the nation. Among the issues discussed were the surge in petrol and diesel prices, the strain on the MSME sector, and the government's perceived inaction on employment matters. He stressed the urgency of addressing these concerns through both political and legal avenues.
"The agenda included the Modi Government’s policies, which have led to rampant paper leaks, soaring inflation, and a severe unemployment crisis. These issues are now at the forefront of our campaign," Venugopal stated in a tweet following the meeting.
In addition to economic grievances, the Congress leaders also addressed threats to constitutional integrity and the state of democratic processes. Venugopal noted the need to safeguard social justice, stating, "Our focus remains on ensuring the rights of citizens and holding the government accountable for its decisions."
Exam Crisis and BJP's Response
The discussion extended to the recent rejection of Meenakshi Natarajan’s Rajya Sabha nomination, which Venugopal described as a strategic move to consolidate BJP influence. He accused the ruling party of undermining opposition members by pressuring them to resign and switch allegiance, effectively claiming their seats.
As the Congress prepares to intensify its efforts, the BJP is expected to issue a statement in response to the growing criticism. The article will be updated once that statement is received.
