The victim, Vijay Haldar, a 45-year-old farmer from Bangali Tola close to Bherihari village under Valmikinagar police station jurisdiction, had stepped into a crop field bordering the Valmiki Tiger Reserve when a tiger struck and killed him instantly, according to Valmikinagar forest range officer Satyam Kumar. Kumar noted that the victim had previously received warnings from the forest department advising him to stay clear of the reserve boundary during peak movement periods.
"Soon after the incident, a team of personnel reached the spot and recovered the body," the range officer stated, adding that the victim had disregarded warnings previously issued by the forest department.
