MCG Initiates Online Auction for Over 200 Advertising Sites
MCG launches e auction for 200 ad – The Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG) has begun a cluster-based online auction of advertising sites throughout the city, with the goal of enhancing public space management, ensuring fair allocation, and increasing municipal income. Officials highlighted that the digital bidding process will promote transparency and competitive participation among eligible bidders.
Schedule of Auction Process
The auction timeline began on June 11, with applicants submitting documents and starting the registration phase. A pre-qualification stage and site evaluation will run until June 17, followed by application reviews and the announcement of results on June 18. A period for challenges and revisions is set for June 19, before the final phase of earnest money deposits from June 20 to June 24. The live auction will take place on June 25, with outcomes finalized by June 26.
Cluster-Wise Pricing Strategy
The corporation has organized the ad sites into six clusters, each with distinct monthly reserve prices. Cluster-1 is priced at ₹2.28 crore, Cluster-2 at ₹2.16 crore, Cluster-3 at ₹1.88 crore, Cluster-4 at ₹2.32 crore, Cluster-5 at ₹2.37 crore, and Cluster-6 at ₹2.31 crore. These clusters span critical residential, commercial, and transportation zones, including areas like Sector 4, Sector 7, Old Colony, Laxman Vihar, Jyoti Park, and Madanpuri, along routes such as Old Railway Road and Sheetla Mata Road.
Additional locations in the clusters include Sector 5, Sector 12A, Sector 33, Sector 34, Sector 38, Rajiv Nagar, and Sanjay Gram. Other key areas are Sector 31, Sector 32, Sector 39, Sector 40, Sector 45, and South City 1, located along Netaji Subhash Marg and NH-48 access roads. The list also covers Sector 21, Sector 22, Sector 23, DLF Phase 2, DLF Phase 3, Cyber City, and Dundahera, including the Old Delhi-Gurugram Road and internal Cyber City pathways.
Revenue Targets and Past Performance
In the prior allocation cycle, the MCG achieved ₹85.9 crore in ad revenue, falling short of its estimated ₹100 crore target. This year, the civic body has raised its goal to ₹120 crore, reflecting its confidence in the new auction model.
“The e-auction system for ad site allocation is a transparent, fair, and technology-driven approach. It will not only elevate the corporation’s revenue but also guarantee more efficient management and utilization of public advertising spaces,” stated municipal commissioner Pradeep Dahiya.
