JMM holds strategic voter revision workshop - The Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) recently hosted a district-level Special Intensive Revision (SIR) workshop and training session at Rabindra Bhawan in Pakur. The focus of the event centered on booth-level coordination, ensuring accurate voter list updates, and addressing potential inconsistencies in the current electoral roll revisions, according to informed sources.
The gathering was led by JMM district president Azizul Islam, drawing significant participation from party workers and officials. Notable attendees included Vinod Kumar Pandey, the party's central general secretary and spokesperson, along with central secretary Pankaj Mishra, Rajmahal MP Vijay Hansdak, and Littipara MLA Hemlal Murmu.
Pandey Highlights Concerns Over Voter Deletion
Vinod Kumar Pandey voiced apprehensions during the session, accusing officials of systematically removing names of qualified voters from the records. He emphasized the critical role of party members in upholding democratic principles and the Constitution, urging immediate action to counteract such deletions.
“Every worker plays a crucial role in safeguarding democracy and the Constitution,” Pandey stated. He declared that the JMM would oppose unfair deletions democratically, ensuring all eligible citizens retain their voting rights.
Technical Training and Operational Guidelines
Pankaj Mishra delivered technical guidance to booth-level agents, focusing on strict compliance with Election Commission protocols, systematic voter list reviews, and mapping strategies. He also outlined plans for the party's membership drive and awareness campaigns about state welfare programs.
Leaders Stress Ground-Level Engagement
Rajmahal MP Hansdak underscored the importance of grassroots involvement, referring to booth-level office bearers as the "true strength" of the party. He urged immediate local inspections to reinforce the party's presence. MLA Murmu added specific instructions on voter mapping procedures to eliminate gaps at the local level.
Unified Leadership Participation
The event featured a broad spectrum of district leadership, including district vice-presidents Haji Samad Ali, Harivansh Chaubey, and Peter Marandi, alongside district secretary Michael Murmu and zilla parishad president Julie Khristmuni Hembram. Other central committee members also attended, reflecting a coordinated effort to strengthen the voter revision process.
