Five RPF Staff Members Suspended Following Alleged Assault on Railway Official at Agra Cantt Station

5 RPF men suspended for dragging - A viral video has sparked an investigation into an incident at Agra Cantt railway station, where five Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel, including an inspector in charge, were suspended for allegedly dragging and physically abusing a deputy station superintendent. The footage, which shows the official being pulled by RPF staff, has circulated widely on social media platforms.

Investigation Initiated

Sanjay Gautam, public relations officer (PRO) for the NCR’s Agra division, confirmed the suspension. He stated that a three-member inquiry panel has been formed to examine the case thoroughly.

"Action has been taken against Surendra Chaudhary, the station incharge, along with assistant S-I Meghraj Meena, assistant S-I Balkishan, and RPF constables Jitendra and Badan Singh," Gautam noted. Further disciplinary measures will depend on the findings of the probe.

Cause of Dispute

The altercation reportedly began when the Hirakund Express halted at Agra Cantt station on Sunday. A woman passenger from Ludhiana disembarked to buy supplies from a nearby outlet but missed her chance to reboard as the train departed. She urgently requested the station superintendent to stop the train, prompting the official to contact the train guard.

Eyewitness Account

Witnesses claim the incident occurred as the Hirakund Express reached platform no. 1. The RPF staff at the platform initially thought the request was related to chain pulling, despite the official's attempts to explain the situation. This misunderstanding escalated into the alleged physical altercation.
