32 Held Across Bihar for Cheating in Constable Recruitment Exam

32 held across Bihar for cheating - Bihar's police force has apprehended 32 individuals for alleged cheating during the Bihar Police Radio Operator Examination. The suspects reportedly used tactics similar to those seen in the NEET re-test, including biometric tampering and employing "solvers" to assist candidates instead of distributing the test paper directly.

Arrests by District

Of the total arrests, 15 were from Khagaria, seven from Darbhanga, three from Saharsa, and one each from Kishanganj, Jamui, Munger, Muzaffarpur, Bettiah, Vaishali, Nawada, and other regions.

Khagaria SP Bhanu Pratap Singh disclosed that an organized group was dismantled, comprising seven impersonators, two biometric staff, a high school teacher, and a school superintendent from St Xavier’s School named Brajesh Kumar. Authorities confiscated nine mobile phones, seven cheque books, an ATM card, eight admit cards, an Aadhaar card, two premium vehicles, a motorcycle, and numerous educational certificates.

"Initial findings indicate the group aimed to extort large sums from examinees by enticing them to pass the test. Some members also attempted to alter the question paper," said Bhanu Pratap Singh.

A special team, led by Sub-Divisional Police Officer Mukul Ranjan and Cyber DSP Nishant Gaurav, conducted the arrests across multiple locations. Six accused are from Khagaria, four from Bhojpur, and two from Arwal districts. An FIR has been lodged against them at the Khagaria police station under sections 316(2), 316(3), 316(4), 316(5), 319(2), and 61(2) of the BNS.

The investigation continues, with police suspecting the gang maintains connections beyond Khagaria. Forensic analysis of seized electronic devices and documents is underway. All arrested individuals are being interrogated extensively, with some apprehended at St Xavier’s School, Rosebud School, SR High School, and a hotel near Parmanandpur.

Darbhanga and Jamui Operations

In Darbhanga, seven arrests were made for using Bluetooth devices to facilitate malpractice. This included examinees, their accomplices, and individuals transmitting answers externally. A girl from Nawada district, Mausam Kumari, was detained at the Marwari College exam center in Laheriasarai, with her arrest leading to the capture of her brothers Kundan Kumar and Rajneesh Kumar for assisting via Bluetooth.

Four people, including two examinees, were arrested at the Marwari High School center in Town police station area. Bluetooth devices, walkie-talkies, and other gadgets were seized during the operation.

Vicky Kumar, from Patna's Paliganj, was arrested in Jamui with a Bluetooth device. Saharsa police detained three individuals, including Chandan Kumar, a teacher at Polytechnic Cavendish Residential School, along with a blank cheque and academic documents. Chandan Yadav of Simraha and Vivek Kumar were also linked to the group as question paper solvers.

Additional Suspects

A fake biometric employee, Jai Prakash Kumar from Jamui, was discovered at the Girls High School in Muzaffarpur's Mithanpura area. He attempted to infiltrate the exam center disguised as an official of a biometric agency.

Ajay Kumar, a resident of Fatuha village in Nawada, was caught using Bluetooth to cheat at the Vipin High School center in Bettiah town.
