Don’t cast evil eye on Ayodhya: Yogi Adityanath
Yogi Adityanath Defends Ayodhya Against Allegations of Faith Erosion
Don t cast evil eye on Ayodhya – Following the arrest of eight individuals named in an FIR linked to alleged misuse of funds at the Ram temple in Ayodhya, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath addressed the public on Friday, vowing to hold accountable those who undermine religious trust.
“Once the SIT report was finalized, we acted swiftly. Any attempt to erode public faith will not go unanswered,” he stated during a rally in Deoria, where he unveiled new development initiatives.
Adityanath reiterated his earlier stance that the probe into the case would ensure transparency, referencing his speech in Ayodhya on June 19. He emphasized that the truth would emerge through the investigation.
“I had declared that the SIT’s preliminary findings would trigger action. The report is now in, and we’ve started our response. Ayodhya symbolizes the collective faith of our people and the principles of Sanatan Dharma,” he said.
On Thursday, the police registered an FIR against the eight accused for alleged embezzlement of donations collected at the temple. The arrests followed the formal filing of the case.
“No one should be allowed to wield such influence over the people’s belief. Those who question Ayodhya’s sanctity today are motivated by hidden agendas,” Adityanath asserted.
Criticism of Opposition Parties
Adityanath turned his focus to the Congress and Samajwadi Party, accusing them of a history of undermining religious sentiments and sowing discord.
“These are the same factions that opposed the Ram temple’s construction and cast doubt on Lord Ram’s existence. They fought legal battles to challenge its legitimacy,” he claimed.
“They used to argue that Ram never lived. Their lawyers flooded courts, and they resisted the Ram Janmabhoomi movement. Now they accuse Ayodhya of betraying faith,” he added.
Highlighting past actions, he noted that the opposition had even instigated riots during Ram Navami, banned Krishna Janmotsav, and disrupted the Kanwar Yatra. He also recalled the unrest during Durga Puja celebrations.
“During their rule, these parties incited riots and targeted religious events. Today, they claim faith is being threatened—yet they failed to protect it before,” Adityanath said.
“The Congress not only mismanaged the nation’s resources but also set records for corruption. The Samajwadi Party’s leaders, now agitated, were once part of the plundering,” he remarked.
Adityanath called the current allegations against Ayodhya a new front in the political struggle, urging opponents to present evidence instead of engaging in unending accusations.
“If you lack proof, cease the back-and-forth. If you do have it, share it and support the SIT’s work. Our government remains committed to the process,” he concluded.
