Balancing Development and Heritage: Core Mission of Modi Government, Says Rai
Balancing development and heritage core mission – During a national outreach initiative at Sai Nath University, Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Nityanand Rai emphasized that the Modi administration’s central goal is to harmonize swift infrastructure growth with the preservation of India’s cultural legacy. He highlighted the Ram Mandir’s construction as a defining example of this dual focus.
Progress Toward ‘Viksit Bharat’
Rai underscored the government’s determination to achieve its ‘Viksit Bharat’ (Developed India) target by 2047, noting that the past 12 years have seen significant strides in this direction. He drew a symbolic link between the nation’s trajectory and its historical roots, stating,
“Swami Vivekananda’s childhood name was Narendra, and the current Prime Minister also bears the same name. One Narendra fulfills the vision of the other, and through collective effort, we can realize the dream of a developed India.”
Security Achievements and Regional Impact
Discussing internal security, Rai showcased data on the reduction of terror and insurgent activities over the last decade. “The country has achieved a 98% drop in terror incidents in Jammu and Kashmir, while insurgency in the Northeast has fallen by 82%,” he noted. He attributed these improvements to the government’s zero-tolerance approach, citing Jharkhand as a state that has transformed under this policy.
“Observing the current state of Jharkhand, one can clearly see the impact of eradicating Naxalism,” Rai added. “This progress reflects the unwavering resolve of the Narendra Modi government.”
Digitization and Public Welfare
Rai praised the integration of digital tools and direct benefit transfers, which he claimed have effectively curbed corruption in public welfare systems. “The Modi government’s 12-year term marks a golden era for ‘New India,’ built on principles of service, transparency, and development,” he stated.
He acknowledged key initiatives like Jan Dhan, Ujjwala, PM Kisan Samman Nidhi, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, and Ayushman Bharat, emphasizing their role in improving millions of lives. “These programs have redefined the nation’s socio-economic landscape, guided by the vision of inclusive growth,” Rai explained.
Rising Global Influence
On the international stage, Rai highlighted India’s enhanced global standing, which he linked to domestic advancements. “The nation has transcended instability and mistrust, reaching new milestones in development and public welfare,” he said. “This success is rooted in the mantra of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, and Sabka Prayas.’”
Rai also underscored the expansion of premier institutions such as IITs, AIIMS, and medical colleges as a testament to the country’s growing capabilities.
Event Highlights and Civic Engagement
Before the discussion, Rai joined a community cleanliness drive at Tetar Toli complex, where he honored local sanitation workers as part of ongoing civic initiatives. He later visited the CRPF Group Centre to honor fallen soldiers and reviewed progress on major infrastructure projects, including the Ratu Road Elevated Corridor.
The event brought together notable figures from administration, academia, and sports, including Sai Nath University’s vice-chancellor SP Agrawal and international footballer Divyani Linda, alongside senior organizational leaders.
