Four Bangladeshi Nationals Arrested in Knifepoint Burglary Case
4 Bangladeshi nationals held for knifepoint – Authorities in Gurugram have detained four individuals from Bangladesh following a robbery incident in Sector 23, which occurred on June 4. The suspects allegedly took hostages from the home of a retired army colonel and stole valuables valued at over ₹15 lakh, police confirmed on Saturday.
Operation Unveils Suspects’ Hiding Spot
Investigators from the Palam Vihar crime branch, under the leadership of sub-inspector Manoj, tracked the suspects to Bajghera. A pursuit led them to the Dwarka Expressway underpass, where the group fled in panic. All four suffered fractures during their fall.
“These suspects had conducted surveillance on multiple residences in Sector 23 before infiltrating the officer’s home,” stated ACP (crime) Naveen Sharma. “They will be interrogated to retrieve the stolen items.”
Sharma revealed that the group, based in Delhi’s Sangam Vihar, operated from this location. The gang was linked to four additional armed robberies in the Palam Vihar area. More members and associates are expected to be apprehended in the coming days.
Arman, the alleged leader, has been residing in India illegally since 2004. He faces multiple charges, including murder and dacoity, across Haryana, Delhi, and Uttar Pradesh. Hilal, another suspect, has 12 criminal cases for dacoity, theft, and illegal arms possession in Delhi. Maman, meanwhile, has three cases related to robbery and theft in Gurugram and Delhi.
The robbery took place between 2:09 am and 3:15 am. The suspects breached the house of retired colonel CL Jain by cutting the window grill. They seized his son, daughter-in-law, and 11-year-old granddaughter to extract valuables from the premises.
At the time of the attack, the colonel, his wife, and two other family members were asleep on the ground floor. The stolen goods are currently being recovered as the suspects receive medical care at Sector 10A’s Civil Hospital.
