CJP: ‘Will Not Be Silenced’ After Bengal Volunteer’s Father Dies

Bharatmorningnews.com – The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) declared on Sunday that it will not be silenced by violence, demanding immediate arrests after the father of a party volunteer was killed in what the organisation described as a targeted assault in West Bengal. Shaik Abdul Hafeez, 25, had been working as a field volunteer under the CJP’s school-inspection programme when his father, Mafik, died from injuries sustained during an alleged home invasion in Bankura district.

What Happened on August 13

Hafeez travelled to a government school in the Karisunda area of his village to carry out a routine infrastructure audit under the “School Thik Karo” Abhiyan. The party’s account states that a teacher at the institution passed details of the inspection to local BJP political workers. Hours later, those men reportedly stormed Hafeez’s home and demanded he record an apology video claiming the school’s poor condition had been exaggerated under outside pressure.

When Hafeez refused, the group turned violent. Mafik suffered a severe blow to the head; his son took a deep neck wound. Despite hospitalisation, Mafik died at the family home on Saturday, according to the CJP statement carried by PTI. Fearing further reprisals, Hafeez subsequently fled to Kolkata after filming a video from a hospital bed documenting his injuries.

Leadership Demands Justice

Abhijeet Dipke, founder and national convener of the CJP, issued a pointed statement:

“We will not be silenced and intimidated. We will keep fighting for better schools. CJP stands firmly with Abdul and his family. We demand the immediate arrest of those responsible for his father’s death. Our CJP team will visit West Bengal and ensure that Abdul and his family get justice.”

Chief spokesperson Saurav Das amplified the party’s position, calling the attackers “goons who allegedly belong to the BJP” and asking what crime Hafeez had committed by planning a social audit of his local school. Das urged West Bengal police to act without delay, adding that the organisation will not be silenced until accountability is delivered.

The CJP further alleged that no FIR was filed at the Indas police station following the assault and that no medico-legal case was opened. The party pressed the station to apprehend those accused immediately and to guarantee Hafeez’s household safety. A delegation from the National Working Committee, led by co-convener Ashutosh Ranka, is scheduled to travel to West Bengal to stand with the family and press for a fair investigation.

Campaign Background

The “School Thik Karo” initiative, launched by Dipke, invites ordinary citizens to walk into government schools, assess physical infrastructure, and publicly flag deficiencies so that educational quality can be improved. Hafeez’s August 13 visit was one such civic audit conducted under the programme’s nationwide framework.
